A Pocket Full of Sunshine is a dream come true by Talia Campbell. She is an innovative dreamer committed to providing a stellar space for events leading to celebrate or collaborate.

“God only gives you want you can handle. God must think you can handle a lot.”

A Pocket Full of Sunshine is a venue built as a testament to strength, resilience, and faith in one’s calling.

With dreams of opening a wedding venue and the support from her fiancé Anthony Elgin, Talia took the plunge to attend Southern Illinois University’s College of Business. After earning her business degree, Talia lined up contractors and the paperwork in order to nail down the business loan to solidify her vision.

Unfortunately, on April 8, 2017, Talia became a single mom. Anthony, who had been recently afflicted with insomnia, had fallen asleep at the wheel on his way home from work and passed away that night.

A week after Anthony’s death, Talia received a package with the custom engagement ring he’d commissioned for an elaborate proposal that weekend.

The indescribable grief Talia experienced while raising her son alone swirled her into a sadness that dragged her further from her dreams, passions, and herself.

One day Talia’s dad gave her words of perseverance that reminded her of how much Anthony wanted her to make her dreams a reality. She knew she had to pull through and build the vision she promised her son and her late fiancé.

Back on course, Talia navigated about thirty rejections from banks until locally-owned Community First Bank said yes. With that loan, she was able to purchase the property just down the road from her childhood home.

Between two interstates (57 and 64), the directions are simple and the gorgeous country setting ensures privacy. The concrete was poured in February 2018 and her first wedding was set for May 2018, which was booked from the sketches Talia had drawn up.

Since that first wedding, Talia has kept a busy calendar making sure everything is perfect for every event that takes place. Being a perfectionist herself, Talia works alongside her staff making sure every detail is in place so the day is as stress-free as possible.

Because of A Pocket Full of Sunshine’s success, Talia has more plans in the works to expand on this stunning venue. Contact Talia for more information on A Pocket Full of Sunshine and how it can best accommodate your event.

One day, Talia was driving and saw big, puffy clouds in a bright, blue sky full of sunshine. Whenever someone asks her couples where they are getting married, they will say, “A Pocket Full Sunshine.”
